Cuticles Nail Spa

Tamika Miller owns a successful nail spa in Oakland, California, that is very different than a traditional nail salon. She offers a place where luxury accompanies environmentally-sound and sustainable products.

Yet, her spa's one-page website didn't reflect her high-end services. It also didn't perform well in online searches. It was time for a website makeover.

We got started on the redesign while the spa was still closed due to the pandemic. Tamika selected the Hazelwood premium Squarespace template from Station Seven to jumpstart the redesign. She liked how warm and sophisticated the design was. She also felt it was an evolution in her spa’s branding that reflected the interior design changes she was making in anticipation of re-opening.

One of our key challenges was photography. Since the spa was being re-designed, she didn’t want to take new photos of the space yet. At the same time, older photographs of her work felt dated and not in alignment with her new aesthetic.

We curated new stock photography from Adobe Stock and Haute Stock. We selected lifestyle photos in addition to tight shots of manicures and pedicures to bring a more human feeling to the site. Our goal was to show her ideal client living her best life with beautiful nails (of course!).

Since appointments are required for all spa services, it was also essential to make the online booking match the in-spa customer experience. We used some custom styling to upgrade the standard MindBody appointment widget, ensuring a seamless booking experience.

The result was a polished and professional site that illustrates how Tamika's spa is different than traditional nail salons. Her books were filled within days of re-opening her spa and launching her site — and she's looking forward to attracting new clients in the future thanks to her new SEO-friendly website.
